The Event Stylists is a creative brand founded by Roz Bennett, combining over 25 years of experience in event styling, design and creative education to help others create stunning, memorable events at home. At the heart of the brand is the signature KEYS method — a step-by-step approach designed to simplify event planning while ensuring every detail exudes style and sophistication. The KEYS method empowers individuals to transform their spaces into extraordinary settings for celebrations, blending practicality with artistic flair.

Roz’s timeless, intricate style and passion for storytelling through design runs through everything — from the original pattern collections and stationery suites to the blog and creative community she is building. Her mission is simple: to help anyone create something beautiful, whatever the occasion.
Roz Bennett has over 25 years of experience in event styling, design and creative education, with a career built on artistry, craftsmanship and an instinct for making things beautiful. She trained at the prestigious Royal School of Needlework, mastering traditional embroidery techniques, and her expertise in restoration and conservation led her to conduct workroom tours at Hampton Court Palace and teach hundreds of students at the RSN. Roz also organised exhibitions showcasing RSN students’ work for the Royal Family, solidifying her reputation for excellence.
Roz expanded her creative skills by training in traditional upholstery, contributing to prestigious homes, and studying millinery with Katherine Elizabeth, being commissioned on projects for fashion houses including the creation of the Mayor’s celebratory bicorn. Her passion for design led her to teach at creative exhibitions, organise main feature sets for BBC shows, and build her own businesses; Silver Swan Events, creating bespoke event décor, and Button Owl, a successful children’s interior design brand whose trademarked product MyPlayLights reached customers worldwide.
She has studied pattern and surface design with Bonnie Christie, building a catalogue of over 500 original seamless patterns, and has developed a range of digital products, party stationery collections and styling guides that make beautiful event design accessible to everyone.
Now, as the founder of The Event Stylists, Roz brings together her love for creativity and design with her passion for helping others create something truly special; whatever the occasion.
Some of my fondest memories are of the parties my mum would throw for my brother and me as children. Any occasion was an excuse for a party. She would go to great lengths to create food and decorations to match the theme, and we’d eagerly help by flipping through recipe books and picking the perfect dishes to match the occasion. Every party had a centrepiece cake, beautifully decorated to fit the theme, a basket of sugar-paste flowers for Easter or a fun cat cake for my cat-themed birthday.
But it wasn’t just the food; the preparation was an experience in itself. Mum would make me a party dress for every occasion. I have vivid memories of trips to John Lewis in London, where I was allowed to choose a pattern and fabric. Unsurprisingly, I always picked the most glittery, sparkly fabric I could find; my magpie tendencies shining through even then. These special touches and being involved in their creation taught me the importance of weaving love and care into the details.
My passion for storytelling and design was also shaped by my parents’ love for opera and ballet. My mum, an opera singer, and my dad, a passionate classical music enthusiast, took me to performances from a young age. I would sit in the audience, mesmerised by the singers, dancers, and stage sets, sketching their beautiful costumes and dramatic backdrops. I loved how the outfits and stage designs played an essential role in telling the story.
This passion stayed with me, eventually leading me to train at the prestigious Royal School of Needlework, where I honed my craft in traditional embroidery techniques. It was a surreal full-circle moment to work on the curtains of the Royal Opera House I had admired as a child. These experiences deepened my understanding of how thoughtful design, intricate details, and storytelling could create something truly magical.
My journey into the events industry came a little by accident. I talked my way into a challenging job that others had dropped out of. The task was monumental: managing 100 room sets for the BBC, with each company designing and setting up their own space. I dove headfirst into every aspect of the project; design, logistics, client relationships, and loved every moment of it. Seeing those perfectly themed and executed room sets come to life was pure magic. Being toasted by the head of the BBC for creating something extraordinary cemented my love for events.
As life went on, I carried that love with me. Whether it was organising events for companies or throwing parties for my friends, I relished every opportunity to create something meaningful. When I had children, I loved planning and creating their birthday parties. Just like my mum had done for me, pouring my heart into every detail.
What always struck me was how many guests would admire the parties and say, “I wish I could do this, but I wouldn’t know where to start” or “I’m just not creative enough.” I’ve always believed that creativity exists in everyone — it just needs to be nurtured and guided. There’s nothing quite like watching someone discover their creative side and take pride in creating something beautiful or meaningful. It’s a joy that I’ve wanted to share with as many people as possible.
This belief- that everyone has the potential to create magic in their own way, became the foundation of The Event Stylists. At its core, the mission of The Event Stylists is to inspire creativity, build lasting memories, and help others tell their stories through beautifully styled events. By sharing what I know and love, I want to help you create moments that will be cherished for a lifetime.
